New Sustainable Markets at Taylor Square

Sydeny Farmers Markets @ Taylor SquareSydney Sustainable Markets @ Taylor Square will be on each Saturday between 8am and 1pm starting Saturday 1st May 2010.

This is a great opportunity to discover fresh, seasonal, delicious foods brought by the producers directly to you.

The Sydney Sustainable Markets are not just another food market. It's about being part of a sustainable Food Revolution. A community organisation dedicated to promoting a sustainable food system AND to providing you with simple ways to do the same.

Every dollar you spend on food has incredible power – it affects the future of the Australian food industry, your health, our environment, the livelihood of our nation’s farmers and producers and so much more.  Your food choices matter.

As you explore the market expect to find seasonal fruit and vegetables (organic & low chemical input), free range poultry and eggs, rare breed meats, fish, hand made pasta, artisan cheeses, condiments, organic bread, olive oil, honey, flowers, herbs and much, much more. And each week look out for new producers and farmers and even some local Sydney gardeners sharing their very own produce!

Taylor Square MarketsJoin the Sydney Sustainable Markets and become part of a sustainable Food Revolution by:

  1. Supporting a local farmer: Become a regular, weekly customer of at least one of our farmers, thereby making a significant investment into sustainable farming practices.
  2. Increasing your Organic/Chemical Free purchases: Count the hidden cost of conventionally produced food, and increase your weekly purchases of organic/chemical free even by one or two veges.
  3. Eating Seasonally to reduce your food miles: the market only offers local fruit & vege in season – buying this way radically reduces your food miles.
  4. Information: Join the market for mini talks on sustainable food options.

Vive la Revolution!

And don't forget to grab a bag of our freshly roasted Rainforest Alliance Certified Coffee Beans on your way out. Cherubini Espresso Bar is just around the corner. 85 Boundary Street, Cnr Ice Street, Darlinghurst.

You can find more information about the markets on the official Sydney Sustainable Markets website.

Join 'Ride to Work Day 2010' in SydneyFor the past two years Cherubini Espresso Bar has been supporting the national 'Ride to Work Day' in cooperation with St Vincent's Hospital Sydney.

Last years Ride to Work was a great success with over 91,000 participants celebrating the event at 137 community breakfasts across the country. The registered riders pedalled 700,207km which equates to riding around the world 17 times!

Not only that but 35% of our first time riders who registered for Ride to Work Day 2009 were still riding 5 months after the event and 51% of registrants were riding more often.

Why get involved?

Supporting the event enables your council to achieve a deeper engagement within the community and promote your commitment to:

• healthier communities
• environmental awareness and action
• sustainable transport options

We at Cherubini Espresso Bar are proud to support this event once again with FREE coffees for all participants.
